摘要: The volume and shape of craters produced in lead by the impact steel pellets at 3 km/sec have been studied as functions angle incidence for angles up to 70° from normal. It is found that crater linear cosine incidence, it directly proportional kinetic energy pellet a given incidence. Consideration momentum conservation leads plausible interpretation this behavior. also relation between depth (transverse) diameter consistent with concept radial ``afterflow'' superimposed on primary penetration which obeys density law fluid jets.
