摘要: Abstract We evaluated the effect of forest riparian alternative tree buffer designs on Western Red-backed Salamanders (Plethodon vehiculum) along headwater stream banks in managed forests Washington Coast Range. used pit trap live removals early autumn to estimate relative abundances surface-active salamanders before and after 3 levels retention (strip, patch, no-buffer clear-cut) with upland regeneration harvest. The study spanned a pre-treatment year, harvest year logging, 2 post-treatment years (post1, post2). observed reduced average canopies increased down-wood cover streams that received treatments, especially cut portion patch clear-cut treatments.
