摘要: Deficits in working memory and executive functions are now considered among the most reliable endophenotypes for schizophrenia. To determine whether cognitive deficits exist mouse models of disease, authors trained heterozygous reeler (+/rl) mice on a series visual discriminations similar to those used test abilities primates. These resemble schizophrenia patients that both have reduced levels reelin protein altered gamma aminobutyric acid neurotransmission prefrontal cortex. The +/rl showed selective deficit reversal learning, with pattern errors suggested impaired attention rather than deficiency perseveration inhibitory control. results show dysfunction may serve as useful biomarker neuropsychiatric disease.
