摘要: Abstract An innovative, knowledge-based partnership between research scientists and resource managers in the U.S. Forest Service provided foundation upon which Plan was developed that will guide management on Tongass National for next 10–15 years. Criteria by to evaluate if decisions were consistent with available information base applied major components of emerging final strategy Forest. While remained value neutral contents directions it, their evaluation indicated it contained riparian fish sustainability, wildlife viability, karst cave protection, slope stability, timber resources, social/economic effects, monitoring achieved a high degree consistency scientific information. The Plan, revised conform existing knowledge, represents designed sustain diversity productivity ecosystem while producing goods services commensurate agency’s multiple-use mandate. Execution this research/management highlighted role knowledge forestry decision-making new mechanism input such into decision making process. continues as are addressing priority needs generated planning effort order have additional plan implementation revision through adaptive over 3–5
