摘要: Objective To determine, at 6 weeks postsurgery, if a monitored home exercise program (HEP) is not inferior to usual care rehabilitation for patients undergoing primary unilateral total knee replacement (TKR) surgery osteoarthritis. Methods We conducted multicenter, randomized clinical trial. Patients ages 45–75 years were allocated the time of hospital discharge (n = 196) or HEP 194). Outcomes assessed after included Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index pain physical function subscales, range motion, 50-foot walk time. The upper bound 95% confidence interval (95% CI) mean difference favoring was used determine noninferiority. Results At there no significant differences between HEP, respectively, (7.4 7.2; CI [MD] −0.7, 0.9), (22.5 22.4; MD −2.5, 2.6), flexion (96° 97°; −4°, 2°), extension (−7° −6°; −2°, 1°), (12.9 12.9 seconds; −0.8, 0.7 seconds). At weeks, 18 (9%) 11 (6%) did achieve 80° flexion. There treatment allocations in number readmissions. Conclusion The as an early protocol TKR.
