摘要: Gadolinium diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid (DTPA) enhanced magnetic resonance imaging was performed in eight patients with Cushing disease and surgically proven pituitary microadenomas. A 1.5 T scanner used 3 mm contiguous slices. Short repetition times (TR), short echo (TE), long TR, TE sequences were obtained before serially after intravenous administration of Gd-DTPA. Three (38%) microadenomas undetectable both without Gd-DTPA: one post-Gd-DTPA scan false positive on the side opposite adenoma. Hemihypophysectomy based a petrosal sinus adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) gradient cured all three patients. Two (25%) visible as hypointense foci following Gd-DTPA but not unenhanced scans. The remaining seen T1-weighted images. In this small series ACTH-producing microadenomas, one-third scans, only Gd-DTPA, imaged even enhancement.
