摘要: A method to suppress polarization-fluctuation induced drift in resonator fiber optic gyro (R-FOG) is demonstrated by a polarization-maintaining (PMF) with twin 90° polarization-axis rotated splices. By setting the length difference of segments between two splicing points half beat-length fiber, single eigen-state polarization (ESOP) excited incident lightwave linearly polarized along fiber. Compared previously reported employing splice [1], which ESOPs are excited, our new scheme avoids effect from unwanted ESOP and thus suppresses R-FOG output significantly.
