摘要: A survey of the ground-dwelling araneomorph spider assemblages Southern Carnarvon Basin revealed a total 33 families. Apart from Gnaphosidae and Zodariidae which were not analysed due to time constraints, we recognized 285 species placed in 146 genera. Very few taxa could be assigned existing genera or species, reflecting poor taxonomic knowledge many groups spiders. Patterns composition across study area correlated with rainfall gradients, discrete claypan fauna was detected. Vicariance events seem explain part patterning evident. However, strongly localised patterns also
