摘要: The tectonic system of the eastern flank Mt. Etna volcano (Sicily, Italy) is source most strongest earthquakes occurring in area over last 205 years. A total 12 events with epicentre intensities ≥VIII EMS have occurred at Etna, 10 which were located on flank. This indicates a mean recurrence time about 20 years. highly urbanised, many villages around altitudes up to 700 m a.s.l. southern and flanks are particularly populated areas, numerous very close each other. probabilistic seismic hazard due local faults for was calculated by adopting site approach assessment. Only histories volcano-tectonic considered, leaving out effects strong regional that north-eastern south-eastern Sicily. inventory used this application refers residential buildings. These data extracted from 1991 census Italian National Institute Statistics, grouped according sections. vulnerability elements risk belonging given building typology described index, accordance damage model based macroseismic intensities. For estimation economic losses physical buildings, an integrated impact indicator used, equivalent lost volume. expected annualised earthquake evaluated both absolute relative terms, compared geographical distribution similar evaluations other regions.
