摘要: The arrangement of a plant's roots in the soil determines ability plant to resist uprooting. We have investigated influence root morphology on anchorage using simple patterns systems and numerical simulation. form mechanical properties were derived from results found literature. Major parameters determining characteristics, strength varied so that their could be evaluated. design experimental method we used generated an optimal number configurations different systems, tensile resistances which calculated by two-dimensional finite element analysis. quantify specific parameters, e.g. branching angle, lateral cohesion, as well global such total contact area, basal diameter volume whole system. major components affecting resistance combination topology biomass explained 70% variation resistance.
