摘要: A numerical model is developed that describes the simultaneous flow of water and a second immiscible fluid under saturated unsaturated conditions in porous media. The governing equations are simplified subset three-phase commonly used petroleum reservoir simulation. simplification analogous to derive Richard's equation for zone. assumption pressure gradients air phase negligible leads two partial differential equations. proposed formulation posed terms volumetric saturation fluid. two-dimensional vertical plane approximated by finite differences. fully implicit solved direct matrix technique Newton-Raphson iteration on nonlinear terms. resulting potentially applicable many problems associated with contaminants groundwater. Unfortunately, data such as relative permeabilities capillary pressures types fluids materials present hazardous waste sites not readily available. As this type becomes available field investigation techniques improve, applications will become more practical.
