摘要: Although it is known that changes in land use and climate have an impact on ecological communities, unclear which of these factors currently most important. We sought to determine the influence land-use alteration abundance Central European birds. examined by contrasting birds different breeding habitat, latitudinal distribution, migratory behavior. data from semiquantitative Breeding Bird Atlas Lake Constance, borders Germany, Switzerland, Austria. Changes regional 159 coexisting bird species 1980-1981 2000-2002 were influenced all three factors. Farmland birds, with northerly ranges, long-distance migrants declined, wetland southerly ranges increased abundance. A separate analysis two decades between 1990-1992 showed change significantly over time. Latitudinal distribution was not significant first decade became predictor second decade. spatial scale temporal resolution our study limited, this suggests has overtaken modification determining population trends
