摘要: The presence of tRNA genes in bacteriophages has been explained on the basis codon usage (tRNA are retained phage genome if they correspond to codons more common than its host) or amino acid (independent codon, corresponding gene is bacterial host). existence a large database sequenced mycobacteriophages, isolated host Mycobacterium smegmatis, allows us test above hypotheses as well explore other for genes. Our analyses suggest that rather better explains mycobacteriophages. However, closely related phages differ their genomes capable lysing and do not usage. This suggests benefits having may be associated with either growth ability infect hosts (i.e., range) simply infecting particular host.
