摘要: As a result of population migration, Chagas disease is no longer limited to the North and South American continents. In HIV-infected patients, chronic infection by Trypanosoma cruzi behaves as an opportunistic in severely immunosuppressed patients responsible for high morbidity mortality. Unlike other infections, information on natural history, diagnosis, treatment, prevention scarce. Spain has highest number cases outside continents, coinfection with HIV increasingly prevalent. this article, Spanish Society Tropical Medicine International Health (Sociedad Espanola de Medicina y Salud Internacional) reviews current situation T. provides guidelines areas where not endemic. It also identifies uncertainty additional research necessary.
