摘要: Abstract Introduction Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is a common and severe mental illness. Early detection important reliable screening instruments are required. To date, however, there has been no evidence of any specific BPD tool validated for the Spanish-speaking population. The McLean Screening Instrument Personality Disorder (MSI-BPD) 10-item self-report questionnaire that can detect presence in quick manner. aim present study validation MSI-BPD its use Method Psychometric properties Spanish version were examined sample 344 participants (170 outpatients with possible diagnosis 174 healthy controls). Results Exploratory factor analysis revealed existence bi-factorial structure. scale showed high internal consistency (KR-20 = 0.873) an optimal test-retest reliability (ICC = 0.87). Using logistic regression analyses taking DIB-R as reference, best cut-off 7 was determined, obtaining good sensitivity (0.71) specificity (0.68). area under curve 0.742 (95% CI 0.660–0.824). discriminant classification ability 72.8%. Conclusions psychometric measure BPD. Its ease quickness make it valuable to clinical research settings.
