摘要: Small-scale pollution events involve the release of potentially harmful substances into marine environment. These can affect all levels ecosystem, with damage to both fauna and flora. Numerous reporting structures are currently available document spills, however there is a lack information on small-scale due their magnitude patchy distribution. To this end, volunteers may provide useful tool in filling data gap, especially for coastal environments high usage by members public. The potential citizen scientists record explored using UK as an example, focus highlighting methods issues associated source. An integrated monitoring system proposed which combines science traditional approaches.
