摘要: OBJECTIVE To compare the differential effects of retinopathy prematurity (ROP) examination on physiology premature infants with and without oxygen support. STUDY DESIGN We collected data from 42 (room air = 19, support = 23) compared physiological metrics including heart rate (HR), systemic peripheral saturation (SpO2), mesenteric tissue (StO2) clinical events (oxygen desaturation episodes, bradycardia events, gastric residuals). RESULTS found significant differences between groups in HR during briefly after exam, StO2, eye drop administration, up to 8 min exam. SpO2 was significantly different at all time points. Gastric residuals were higher exam support, baseline. CONCLUSION Premature support may be a risk adverse physiologic response ROP
