摘要: Aims Slide digitalization has brought pathology to a new era, including powerful image analysis possibilities. However, while being prognostic tool, immunostaining automated on digital images is still not implemented worldwide in routine clinical practice. Methods and results Digitalized biopsy sections from two independent cohorts of patients, immunostained for membrane or nuclear markers, were quantified with methods. The first was based stained cell counting through tissue segmentation, the second relied upon area proportion within sections. Different steps preparation, such as detection, folds exclusion scanning magnification, also assessed validated. Quantification either cells found be correlated highly all tested markers. Both methods visual scoring performed by pathologist. For an equivalent reliability, quantification is, however, faster easier fine-tune therefore more compatible time constraints prognosis. Conclusions This work provides incentive implementation method laboratory practice.
