摘要: Even though millipedes display high plasticity in their reproductive strategies, they are poorly studied the tropical region. The present study describes biological cycle and reports parthenogenetic reproduction of Poratia salvator Golovatch & Sierwald, 2000 under environmental conditions. Collections were carried out Pantanal Mato Grosso Varzea Grande, state Grosso, Brazil. individuals kept at room temperature individual plastic pots. All 18 females used experiment reproduced parthenogenetically, resulting a total 699 young individuals. Of these, 18% survived until adult phase. lowest survival rate P. was recorded for first developmental stage (46%). mean duration each ranged between 6.8 ± 0.8 days I 14.9 10.4 VI. phase longest development, followed by juvenile pre-reproductive phases. time maturity 75.1 23.6 days. development 66.1 16.7 number eggs per nest varied seven ten, emergence occurred after an average 9.9 1.4 Sexual proportion 1 male:139.8 females, which indicates tendency towards this species.
