摘要: Extensor digitorum brevis manus (EDBM) is a rare variant extensor muscle of the dorsum hand, which constitutes diagnostic challenge in clinical practice. The aims review are to provide better estimate frequency EDBM and its association with variables such as ancestry, gender, laterality side. Twenty-six studies met inclusion criteria. pooled rates meta-analyses yielded following values: (a) an overall crude cadaveric prevalence 4 %, (b) true 2.5 %, (c) 2.6 % European (d) 2.3 % Asian ancestry (2.07 % Japanese 4.2 % Indian), (e) bilateral occurrence 26.3 %. Non-significant was found between presence gender or inserted on index 77 % cases long finger remaining 23 %. This first evidence-based anatomical review, addresses humans.
