摘要: Silica-based and borate-based glass series, with increasing amounts of TiO2 incorporated, are characterized in terms their mechanical properties relevant to use as metallic coating materials. It is observed that glasses exhibit CTE (Coefficient Thermal Expansion) closer the substrate’s (Ti6Al4V) CTE, translating into higher mode I critical strain energy release rates compressive residual stresses strains at coating/substrate interface, outperforming silica-based counterparts. An increase content results an rate for both bulk system, proving addition structure enhances its toughness, while decreasing hardness. Borate-based BRT3, 15 mol % exhibits superior overall compared other proposed this work, well 45S5 Bioglass® Pyrex.
