Blue, green and yellow upconversion lasing in Er:YLiF/sub 4/ using 1.5 mu m pumping

摘要: The authors report blue, green and yellow upconversion laser action in Er3+:YLiF4 following pumping at 1.500 μm below 80K. For the blue transition ratio of output frequency to input is 3.3, highest yet reported for an laser. In spite multiple steps, thresholds were less than 80mW. It proposed that nonlinear proceeds via a sequence several pairwise cross-relaxation steps.
