摘要: The theory of consolidation has its origin in the effective stress concept developed by Terzaghi, which was derived based on several assumptions to arrive at a simplified theory. Considering limitations involved Terzaghi’s theory, various attempts are being made researchers idealize problem represent field situations. This paper presents more generalized for vertical compressible medium finite thickness, subjected suddenly applied loading, assuming small strain and no creep. assumes deformations, thus settlement is governed strains generated an increment neglecting effect self-weight soil. analytical solution presented here takes into account \ie-log \iK σ′ linear responses under instantaneous loading.
