摘要: Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI), also commonly referred to as concussion, affects millions of Americans annually. Although computed tomography is the first-line imaging technique for all injury, it incapable providing long-term prognostic information in mTBI. In past decade, amount research related magnetic resonance (MR) mTBI has grown exponentially, partly due development novel analytical methods, which are applied a variety MR techniques. Here, evidence subtle changes revealed by these techniques, not demonstrable conventional imaging, will be reviewed. These can considered three main categories structure, function, and metabolism. Macrostructural microstructural have been with three-dimensional susceptibility-weighted diffusion-weighted higher order diffusion imaging. Further investigation may eventually lead improved diagnosis, prognosis, management this common costly condition. (©) RSNA, 2016.
