摘要: In vitro and animal studies have identified molecules in mammalian CNS myelin which inhibit neuritic extension may be responsible, at least part, for the lack of axonal regeneration after injury injured brain, optic nerve spinal cord. To determine whether such inhibitory activity present human myelin, we used a bioassay to characterize neurite outgrowth on this substrate. Human strongly inhibited from newborn rat dorsal root ganglion neurons NG-108-15 cells, neuroblastoma-glioma hybrid cell line. Similar but less potent was gray matter. The inhibition appeared dependent direct contact between substrate neurites. closely resembled that described adult rodents. Inhibition growth by mirrors vivo can as model develop strategies designed enhance neural recovery.
