摘要: AbstractToughness evaluation of narrow high energy beam welds via the conventional Charpy V notch (CVN) impact test is not always successful because cracks often deviate from fusion zone into heat affected or unaffected base metal zones. The small punch (SP) was applied to electron a 490 MPa strength steel evaluate toughness by measuring ductile-brittle transition temperature (DBTT). welded using various inputs and were examined CVN SP tests at 40-298 K. DBTTs obtained showed linear correlation with DBTTs. load-deflection curves during fractography tested specimens indicated existence transitions. results suggest that can be used predict welds, which cannot accomplished test.
