摘要: Technetium-99m sestamibi scintigraphy has become a valuable tool in locating parathyroid glands patients with primary hyperparathyroidism. The aim of this study was to evaluate its usefulness secondary Twenty were injected intravenously 740 MBq 99mTc-sestamibi and images obtained at 15 min 2 h post injection. All underwent ultrasonography (US) as well bilateral surgical neck exploration 64 removed. US revealed least one enlarged gland 15/20 (75%), while showed focal areas increased uptake 17/20 (85%). When imaging results for all evaluated according results, sensitivity 54% 41% US, specificity 89% both techniques. There discrepancy between the two modalities 28 (35%). mean weight US-positive (1492±1436 mg) significantly higher than that US-negative (775±703 (P<0.05). However, there no significant differences sestamibi-positive sestamibi-negative glands. only considered, positive correlation found (r=0.4, P<0.05). In conclusion, are complementary techniques preoperative localization abnormal limited means will still require exploration; therefore routine scanning renal is not justified.
