摘要: Abstract Peripheral nerve injury results in axonal degeneration and phenotypic changes of the surrounding Schwann cells, whose presence is critical for regeneration. Using differential screening strategies, we identified a novel protein, termed ninjurin (for injury–induced protein), that up-regulated after axotomy neurons cells distal segment. Ninjurin located on cell surface, capable mediating homophilic adhesion, promotes neurite extension dorsal root ganglion vitro. also expressed number other tissues, predominantly epithelial cells. These suggest plays role regeneration formation function tissues.
