摘要: Pulmonary volumes and capacities have been measured at three water temperatures (Tw = 25, 34, 40 degrees C) in standing subjects immersed up to the shoulders. The comparison of data obtained air with those thermoneutral immersion 34 confirms results previously published several studies. different Tw shows: 1. A significant decrease vital capacity (VC) bath temperature (VC C greater than VC 25 C). same is observed inspiratory reserve volume (IRV) while expiratory (ERV), residual (RV) functional (FRC) do not vary. 2. maximum breathing (MBC) (MBC MBC 3. increase tidal (VT) cold or hot compared (VT40 VT34 C; less VT25 during quiet breathing. Breathing frequency does change, thus ventilation (V) follows evolution as VT. relative abdominal (ABD) contribution VT, estimated by a double belt inductance plethysmograph, reduced but unchanged bath. Beside variations metabolic state, pulmonary function are be mainly due alterations respiratory muscles functioning.
