摘要: Background: Hematology and serum biochemistry values can be useful for evaluating the health of populations captive free-living European brown hares (Lepus europaeus). However, current information is fragmented incomplete. Objective: The objective this study was to determine normal hematology chemistry a population investigate differences related sex age. Methods: Routine were determined 48 in Catalonia (northeastern Spain): 21 young (6 males 15 females) 27 adult (14 13 hares. Blood obtained by auricular venipuncture while animals physically restrained. Results expressed as mean ± SD, reference intervals calculated 2SD. Results: RBC count, PCV, concentrations hemoglobin, total protein, albumin, gamma globulin, urea nitrogen, creatinine, alanine aminotransferase activity significantly higher adults than hares, alkaline phosphatase bilirubin concentration lower. Sex not observed. Conclusions: results are considered representative healthy A single interval used from male female however, age-specific needed some analytes.
