摘要: The influence of a number environmental parameters on the fermentation glucose, and energetics growth Clostridium butyricum in chemostat culture, have been studied. With cultures that were continuously sparged with nitrogen gas, glucose was fermented primarily to acetate butyrate fixed stoichiometry. Thus, irrespective rate, input concentration specific nutrient limitation and, within limits, culture pH value, acetate/butyrate molar ratio extracellular fluids uniformly 0.74±0.07. efficiency which ATP generated from catabolism also constant at 3.27±0.02 mol ATP/mol fermented. However, rate hence generation, varied markedly under some conditions leading changes Yglucose YATP values. In general, glucose-sufficient expressed lower yield values than correponding glucose-limited this particularly marked potassium-limited culture. increasing above 40g glucose·l-1 led significant decrease could be partially reversed by sparging gas. Finally immediately an increased when relieved their limitation. Since cell synthesis did not increase instantaneously, again respect consumed transiently decreased.
