摘要: Abstract Steady-state visual evoked potentials (SSVEPs) were recorded from the scalp of human subjects who cued to attend a rapid sequence alphanumeric characters presented one half-field while ignoring concurrent in opposite half-field. These two-character sequences each superimposed upon small square background that was flickered at rate 8.6 Hz and 12 other The amplitude frequency-coded SSVEP elicited by either task-irrelevant flickering backgrounds significantly enlarged when attention focused character same location. This enhancement with most prominent over occipital-temporal areas right cerebral hemisphere regardless field stimulation. findings indicate reflects an neural responses all stimuli fall within "spotlight" spatial attention, whether or not are task-relevant. Recordings provide new approach for studying mechanisms functional properties selective multi-element displays.
