摘要: Focal cortical dysplasias are a well-recognized cause of medically intractable seizures. The clinical relevance certain subgroups the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) classification scheme remains to be determined. aim present work is assess effect focal dysplasia type Ib and Ic histologic subtypes on surgical outcome with respect seizure frequency. This study also provides an opportunity compare predictive value ILAE Palmini et al schemes regard I dysplasias. We retrospectively reviewed 91 patients (55% female; median age: 19 years (interquartile range 8–34); duration: 108 months 36–204)) chronic epilepsy who underwent surgery. compared pathological subtypes, evaluating patients’ post-surgical frequency according Engel’s classification. Both were utilized classify subtype. Using χ2 Fisher’s exact tests, we outcomes among these groups. Of patients, there 50 Ib, 41 Ic, 63 IA, 28 IB. After surgery, 44 (48%) seizure-free. Crude analysis revealed no significant difference between or concerning postoperative Engel scoring systems Our findings for (Ib vs Ic) (IA IB). In isolation, subtype does not appear outcome.
