摘要: Abstract Environmental concerns and the search for climate change mitigation have led to deployment of renewable energy technologies (RET) in several countries. The adoption incentive policies, especially those based on heavy subsides, has motivated discussion social economic benefits brought about by these technologies, mainly impact employment rates. In this context, studies been conducted quantify job creation RET, concluding that latter are more labor intensive than traditional fossil fueled technologies. However, results different assessments vary largely due distinct methodological approaches, frequently highly aggregated. Thus, not comparable or applicable other contexts. Previous failed effects imports exports RET equipment total employment, usually associating installed capacity year studied. This study aimed address issues, creating an index quantification production, instead installed, capacity. We estimated both direct jobs manufacture, construction, operation management, indirect upstream supply chains materials inputs manufacture wind turbines construction farms. also performed assessment created projects which expected begin Brazil until 2017. resulting potential corresponds to13.5 persons-year equivalent each MW between first a power plant, 24.5 over farm lifetime. Results show major contribution from stage and, despite low amount maintenance relative new capacity, stable stand out as they persist entire farm's life time.
