摘要: An isolated yeast strain was grown aerobically on phenol as a sole carbon source up to 24 mM; the rate of degradation at 30 degrees C greater than other microorganisms comparable concentrations. This microorganism further identified and is designated Candida albicans TL3. The catabolic activity C. TL3 for evaluated with K(s) V(max) values 1.7 +/- 0.1 mM 0.66 0.02 micromol/min/mg protein, respectively. With application enzymatic, chromatographic mass-spectrometric analyses, we confirmed that catechol cis,cis-muconic acid were produced during biodegradation performed by TL3, indicating occurrence an ortho-fission pathway. maximum hydroxylase catechol-1,2-dioxygenase induced when this grew in culture media 22 10 mM, In addition phenol, effective degrading formaldehyde, which another major pollutant waste water from factory producing phenolic resin. promising result bio-treatment such effluent makes be potentially useful industrial application.
