摘要: OBJECTIVE: To calculate the direct and indirect costs of asthma in Canada. DESIGN: Cost-of-illness study. SETTING: PATIENTS: All Canadians receiving inpatient or outpatient care for 1990. OUTCOME MEASURES: Direct incurred by care, emergency services, physician nursing ambulance use, drugs devices, diagnostic tests, research education. RESULTS: Depending on assumptions, total cost was estimated be between $504 million $648 million. $306 The single largest component ($124 million). illness-related disability ($76 CONCLUSIONS: Annual treating comparable individual infectious diseases, hematological congenital defects, perinatal illnesses, home services.
