Electro‐Fenton Degradation of Methylene Blue Using Polyacrylonitrile‐Based Carbon Fiber Brush Cathode

摘要: A polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fiber brush (PAN-CFB) cathode was firstly used to decolorize and degrade methylene blue (MB) in Na2SO4 solution via electro-Fenton reaction between H2O2 from oxygen reduction ferrous ions (Fe2+) externally added. The optimal current value for production 300 mA, with a maximum concentration of 185 mg L−1 efficiency 68% after 60 min, indicating that PAN-based CF is promising electrode material 2 e− reaction. Additionally, the effect different parameters, such as initial pH dye solution, Fe2+ on decolorization efficiency, COD removal thoroughly investigated simulated wastewater containing MB. results showed system using PAN-CFB had wide applicable range 3.00–7.00, 0.3 mmol L−1. Moreover, under conditions 300 mA current, 3.00, 0.3 mmol L−1 Fe2+, nearly 100% color 30 min, 95.9% chemical demand (COD) low electrochemical energy consumption 11.6 kWh kg−1 60 min 100 mg L−1 MB were obtained.
