Stool samples obtained at 5 6 days 1, 3, 6, 12 months, 13 groups aerobic anaerobic microorganisms cultivated use standard methods. Results: In comparison healthy infants, babies who less often colonized enterococci during month (72% vs 96%; P < .05) bifidobacteria year (17% 39% 42% 69%; .05). Furthermore, allergic higher counts clostridia 3 months (median value, 10.3 7.2 log10; colonization Staphylococcus aureus also (61% 23%; .05), whereas Bacteroides lower (9.9 10.6 Conclusion: Differences composition gut flora between will not develop are demonstrable before any clinical manifestations atopy. Because observations made different standards living, we believe our findings could indicate role protection from allergy. (J Allergy Clin Immunol 2001;108:516-20.)
