摘要: Abstract A procedure for real-time adjustment of range-dependent biases in Weather Surveillance Radar-1988 Doppler version (WSR-88D) rainfall estimates due to nonuniform vertical profile reflectivity is proposed. Using volume-scan measurements effective reflectivity, the conditional mean and variance profiles point calculates, as a function elevation angle slant range, multiplicative factor be applied apparent radar rain rate. As by-product, maximum coverage also delineated, outside which are subject beam overshooting. To evaluate procedure, unadjusted adjusted from Pacific Northwest winter storm examined compared with gauge data.
