Monte Carlo modelling of impurity ion transport for a limiter source/sink

摘要: In relating the impurity influx Φ10 [atoms per second] into a plasma from edge to central ion density n1(0) [ions-m~3], it is necessary know value of τ1SOL, average dwell time ions in scrape-off layer. It usually assumed that τ1SOL = Lc/cs, hydrogenic time, where Lc limiter connection length and cs acoustic speed. Monte Carlo transport results are reported here which show that, for wall (uniform) influx, longer than while shorter. Thus predicted be smaller reference value. Impurities released form ever large 'clouds' successively higher ionization stages. These reproduced by code as cloud shapes localized injection far limiter.
