摘要: A large portion of previous research on knowledge sharing in virtual community focuses organization-sponsored professional communities (PVC) while nowadays numerous nonwork-related are gaining popularity. This study investigates the phenomenon one popular type non-work-related community, online question and answering community. Anchoring self-determination theory, this identifies three types motivations to share Particularly, rewards reputation system, which we further divide into for quantity quality, classified as extrinsic motivation; learning is internalized motivation enjoy helping intrinsic motivation. Moreover, studies tend hold a monolithic view contribution, regards quality two important parts contribution argues there different underlying mechanisms leading them. Therefore investigate effects separately. An survey with 367 participants was conducted Chinese test model. Results show that motivational factors do have contribution. While systems can effectively enhance quantity, not lead high Learning revealed crucial factor context it positively related both aspects Finally, weakly strongly associated quantity.
