摘要: According to estimates from the United Nations, while world population is likely reach 9 billion by 2050 (from around 7 today), water resources available cater this are remain similar what they today. Therefore, there a growing concern reduce wastage and improve efficiency of distribution systems, in particular, urban systems given proliferation both number cities that springing up people moving live cities. Motivated this, European Commission under aegis Framework Program (FP7) funded Information Communications Technology (ICT) Solutions for Efficient Water Resources Management project. This Smart project aimed at investigating role ICT monitoring efficiently managing exploring deployment sensors, communication technologies, associated decision support utility providers networks geared toward addressing problems, such as leakage management, demand asset so on. article elaborates on wireless connectivity considerations, proposes total cost ownership framework evaluating candidate solutions, highlights experiences case studies involving two utilities Europe.
