摘要: The authors audited pathological colorectal cancer staging according to tumour node metastasis (TNM) 7 and using TNM 5 as a gold standard. 144 consecutive resection specimens were staged prospectively both criteria during routine reporting by specialist gastrointestinal pathologists within single institution. pN stage remained the same under systems apart from required subclassification of pN1 pN2 7. pN1c category was used in only 3% cases. All cases pT4 underwent reversal compared with 5. A previous study revealed migration 32.6% difference frequency between this our audit suggests that application assessment discontinuous/satellite foci is subject significant inter-observer variability.
