摘要: Abstract Precise measurements of the evaporation rates single submicron low-volatility liquid droplets have been made to test available theoretical and semi-theoretical analyses aerosol in diffusion-controlled Knudsen regimes. By suspending a charged droplet an electric field polarized laser beam size was determined as function time using Mie theory interpret light-scattering data. New data for dibutyl sebacate (DBS) evaporating into helium, nitrogen carbon dioxide reported earlier dioctyl phthalate (DOP) helium are compared with predictions rates. The results DBS DOP consistent coefficient order unity free-molecule regime, regime used determine diffusivities He, N 2 CO well Lennard-Jones interaction parameters vapor pressure DBS.
