摘要: Aligned carbon nanotubes (CNTs) possess great potential for transforming the fabrication of advanced interfacial materials energy and mass transport as well structural composites. Realizing this potential, however, requires building a deeper understanding exercising greater control on atomic scale physicochemical processes underlying bottom-up synthesis self-organization CNTs. Hence, in situ nanoscale metrology characterization techniques were developed interrogating CNTs they grow, interact, self-assemble. This article presents an overview recent research CNT growth by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), organized into three categories based stage, which each technique provides information: (I) catalyst preparation treatment, (II) catalytic activation nucleation, (III) termination. Combining all together insights process–structure relationship, paves way producing tailored structures having desired properties target applications.
