摘要: There has been a significant increase in the number of joint prosthesis replacements worldwide. Although relatively uncommon, complications can occur with most serious being an infection. Various radiological and nuclear imaging techniques are available to diagnose prosthetic infections (PJI). In this review article, we describe pathophysiology PJI, principles medicine differences between Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) Positron (PET). The value for clinical practice is also discussed. Then provide overview often used radionuclide that may be helpful diagnosing infection: (67)Ga-citrate, labelled white blood cells vitro vivo (monoclonal antibodies directed against specific targets on leukocytes), (18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose ((18)F-FDG). We their working methods, pitfalls, interpretation criteria. Furthermore, recent advances bacteria, molecular method holds promises detection occult infections. conclude proposing two diagnostic flow-charts, based data literature, could help clinicians choose best when they have patient suspicion or proven PJI.
