摘要: Winter maintenance, particularly snow removal and the stress of materials on public structures, is an enormous budgetary burden municipalities nongovernmental maintenance organizations in cold climates. Lately, geospatial technologies such as remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), decision support tools are providing a valuable tool for planning operations. A few researchers recently used to develop winter tools. However, most these tools, while having potential address some needs, not typically placed hands planners other interested stakeholders. Most constructed with nontechnical user mind lack easy-to-use, easily understood interface. major goal this project was implement web-based Maintenance Decision Support System (WMDSS) that enhances capacity stakeholders (city/county planners, resource managers, transportation personnel, citizens, policy makers) evaluate different procedures managing assets optimally. This accomplished by integrating analytical techniques (GIS sensing), existing asset management system, spatial systems. The system implemented using ESRI ArcIMS ActiveX Connector related web technologies, Active Server Pages, JavaScript, HTML, XML. expert knowledge gathered integrated into form encoded business rules Visual Rule Studio. developed only manages resources but also provides advice assist complex making, routing, optimal allocation, monitoring live weather information. collaboration Black Hawk County, Iowa, city Columbia, Missouri, Iowa Department Transportation. product demonstrated agencies improve usability applicability system.
