摘要: The challenge for fiscal policy in Slovakia is to achieve consolidation a way which supports the fragile recovery and protects spending on areas are important re-embarking trajectory of high trend growth underpinning catch-up living standards. While recently established rules have significantly improved framework, further strengthening medium-term discipline will be necessary avoid pro-cyclical policy. Raising effectiveness tax collection, reforming structure towards less distortive taxes making more out available EU funds would also play helpful role growth-friendly consolidation. Finally, needs done ensure an adequate prioritisation efficient use public revenues. In particular, stepping up analytical monitoring, evaluation assessment capacity ministries should help rein wasteful spending.
