摘要: Adiponectin is a novel endogenous insulin sensitizer, secreted by mature adipocytes. Circulating levels of adiponectin are inversely associated with obesity and resistance. Because risk factor for renal cell carcinoma (RCC), we hypothesized that low RCC. To evaluate this hypothesis, conducted case- control study 70 patients histologically confirmed RCC 280 healthy controls matched gender, age county residence. Study subjects were interviewed blood samples collected during 32-month period in Athens, Greece. Serum statistically, significantly when compared (OR = 0.76, p 0.05) association remained practically unchanged after controlling BMI; the introduction waist to hip ratio along multiple logistic regression analysis model rendered between insignificant, indicating altered may mediate effect central or intra-abdominal on Prospective studies as well exploring underlying mechanisms needed fully explore role predicting future humans.
