摘要: Abstract Objective The objective of this study was to evaluate the understanding adolescent patients regarding epilepsy. Methods SAFETY (Safety, Awareness, and Familiarity Epilepsy in Teenage Years) questionnaire (content validity index: 0.96, Flesch readability score: 66.6) administered 165 cognitively normal adolescents with epilepsy (85 females, mean age: 15.2 ± 1.6 years, range: 13–18 years). first part devised knowledge about antiepileptic medications (SAFETY-K: 7 questions). second queried lifestyle modifications safety (SAFETY-S: 10 Female participants answered 5 additional questions related reproductive health (RH questionnaire). Results correct response rate for composite 51.5%. average rates responses SAFETY-K SAFETY-S were 47.9% 53.9%, respectively.
